Caesars Entertainment Corp. testing new experience space to attract millennial crowd

Caesars Entertainment Corp. is trying to bring in new entertainment and experiences to their gaming properties in order to attract the millennial crowd. In Las Vegas, The Linq property has been testing a space called The Fan Cave, in order to see if the option is something that patrons want to have access to.

New Casino Experience: 

A total of 44,000 square feet of space at The Linq Hotel has been transformed into what Caesars is calling the ‘casino of the future.’ The area will be the largest testing area on the Strip once the construction process is complete in the second quarter of next year.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal…

Executive Vice President of Gaming and Interactive Entertainment, Christian Stuart, commented on the new space at The Linq by stating: “This is like our lab. So what we are doing is spending the money here, and when we find the things that really connect with customers, we will leverage it up to other properties.”

Experimental Areas:

In the experimental spaces at The Linq, the areas feature fan caves which have virtual reality games, skill-based slots and digital table games. A digital bar is included as well as LED screens. The spaces will place more emphasis on the social 7BALL aspect and mobile game play.

The Fan Cave will host tournaments on a regular basis that will be based on slots and sports betting with leaderboards visible to encourage patrons to take part. Visitors to Las Vegas will find the area is located near the entrance of the Strip zip line. Stuart expects this location to help boost the exposure of the new area to customers.

The Linq launched a total of 12 Fan Caves back in October, with each having a capacity to hold ten people. Groups can rent a cave if they plan on spending $100 to $1,500 in food and beverage, with limits set based on the day of the week, plus event type. Prices go up during such events as the Super Bowl. The Fan Cave area of the casino has already double the revenues regarding food and beverage when compared to the totals from the sports lounge which the venue replaced.

The Fan Cave areas include a 98-inch television that can be separated into four screens to watch various events. For entertainment, an Xbox, virtual reality headsets and games have been provided.
