Each of the four casinos in Ohio is allowed to offer poker gaming, slots, and table games. There are seven racinos in the state with facilities offering skill-based games such as video lottery terminals. It seems that players are enjoying all the gaming options more than ever this year, possibly due to the relaxation of COVID-19 protocols as well as vaccinations.

While August hit a new record, it does not beat the June and July totals. Back in June, the state saw just over $196 million in earnings while July was even higher at $211.2 million.

2021 Earnings

As each month hits new record highs, Ohio has been able to generate almost $1.6 billion in yearly revenues. A portion of the revenues earned goes to taxes and fees in the state. The casinos in the state have thus far had a great year. Even going back to when 2021 started, the venues were reporting high earnings. In March, the casinos generated over $215 million, a huge increase from the previous year and earlier records.

This year, it seems the pent-up demand from last year’s COVID-19 shutdown is driving players to the gaming tables and slot machines. Players are better able to trav 7BALL el this year as well as more willing to do so, which helps to bring in more revenues to the state. It will be interesting to see if the increase continues for the remainder of the year.
